KODIAK, Alaska – Santa Clause, otherwise known as Coast Guard Chief Warrant Officer Hamilton Long, presents gifts with the help of Chief Petty Officer Matthew Zytkowicz to children and students inside the village school of Old Harbor Tuesday afternoon.

Santa was brought to Old Harbor by the Coast Guard cutter SPAR crew as an annual Santa to the Villages program here. Santa to the Villages is sponsored by Coast Guard Officer’s Spouses Association as a way to allow children of remote villages to experience meeting Santa.

Each child was given an apple, candy cane, crayons, and a wrapped present. Hats, gloves and scarves were given to the younger children. (Official Coast Guard photo by Petty Officer Christopher D. McLaughlin)
