KENAI, Alaska - February 4, 2006 - The Seabulk Pride arrived safely in Kachemak Bay at about 5:30 p.m., Friday, February 3. The vessel is anchored and inspection work continues with a team of divers.

The response vessels Seabulk Nevada and Resolution are standing by with response equipment, including skimmers, boom and storage capacity. The barges 141 and Responder are in Seldovia Bay and available if needed. The tug Sea Voyager is also standing by.

The Captain of the Port, Capt. Mark DeVries has reopened the Conoco-Phillips and Agrium docks in Nikiski. Vessel traffic in Cook Inlet is being considered on a ship by ship basis by the Coast Guard, Southwest Alaska Pilots Association and the facility operators. The vessel Arctic Sun, a liquefied natural gas tanker, will be arriving at the Conoco-Phillips dock this evening.

The ice rules as they apply to the Arctic Sun for this docking have been amended by the Coast Guard to include the response vessel Monarch in the inlet a few miles from the dock to act as a spotter during operations.
