STELLAR SEA - UPDATE | |
| JUNEAU, Alaska - The 316-foot fishing vessel Stellar Sea, currently under tow by the commercial tug James Dunlop, is expected to arrive in Dutch Harbor at approximately 4 p.m. today. The Coast Guard North Pacific Search and Rescue Coordination Center has released the CGC Mellon from the scene, but continues to closely monitor the situation. The Seattle-based processing vessel was 90 miles north of Dutch Harbor when it suffered an engine fire Tuesday at approximately 10:20 p.m., leaving it without power. There are no reports of injuries among the 142 persons on board. Upon arrival in Dutch Harbor, a Coast Guard Marine Safety Technician will conduct an examination of the vessel. The weather on scene is NNW winds at 19 knots, with waves at 8 to 11 feet. | |
