COAST GUARD CONDUCTS MEDEVAC OF INJURED FISHERMAN NORTH OF COLD BAY
KODIAK, Alaska - The Coast Guard medically evacuated a man Wednesday the fishing vessel (F/V) Desender 100-miles north of Cold Bay. The 28-year-old man, Thomas Demuro, was in need of immediate medical attention when the Coast Guard received the request for assistance at 6:38 a.m. Wednesday. The Coast Guard launched a MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Cold Bay and a HC-130 airplane from Kodiak. The Coast Guard located the Desender and recovered Demuro at 1:20 p.m. Demuro was taken to Cold Bay where he was transferred to local emergency services for further care.
