Alameda Cutter Recognized For Record Drug Interdiction

WHO:  Office of National Drug Control Policy U.S. Interdiction Coordinator Patrick M. Ward

WHAT: will present the Golden Eagle Award to Coast Guard Cutter Sherman

WHEN:  9 a.m. Thursday

WHERE:  on board the Coast Guard Cutter Sherman, moored at Coast Guard Island, Alameda

WHY:  to recognize the cutter's performance in 2007, during which Sherman removed more than 24 metric tons of cocaine from the Eastern Pacific transit zone.
